Asymptomatic COVID testing sites open at Gorbals and Govanhill

10/3/2021

Asymptomatic COVID-19 testing is now available in Gorbals and Govanhill. It's free and appointments are not necessary.

Glasgow residents without Covid-19 symptoms are being asked to get tested if an Asymptomatic Test Centre is set up in their neighbourhood.

People can have the virus and be infectious, yet have no symptoms. This could mean they are spreading Covid-19 to loved ones and in their community without knowing.

Current Asymptomatic Testing Sites
  • Glasgow Central Mosque, 1 Mosque Avenue, Gorbals, 11am to 7pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
  • Govanhill Neighbourhood Centre, 6 Daisy Street, Glasgow. Monday to Friday 11am to 7pm

More information is available at the council's website here.

We have launched a new survey which seeks to understand how accessible PrEP is for African communities through NHS Scotland.

The results from this survey will help inform our work, through allowing us to better understand if any barriers exist in accessing effective treatment for HIV within African communities, and how we can address these.

If you:

- Are a member of the African community.

- Have ever accessed, or tried to access PrEP through NHS Scotland.

Consider taking our short survey to inform our work!
